Metallic asteroid 16 Psyche that orbits between Mars and Jupiter is worth $10,000,000,000,000,000,000

Metallic asteroid 16 Psyche that orbits between Mars and Jupiter has an estimated worth of $10,000,000,000,000,000,000 ($10,000 quadrillion) - more than the earth's entire economy.
An extremely rare metallic asteroid orbits between Mars and Jupiter has an estimated worth of $10,000,000,000,000,000,000 ($10,000 quadrillion) - more than the earth's entire economy, as per a new study published in the Planetary Science Journal.

Asteroid 16 Psyche is one of the most massive objects in the solar system's main asteroid belt. It orbits between Mars and Jupiter, about 230 million miles from Earth. 16 Psyche measures about 140 miles in diameter, which is roughly about the size of US state Massachusetts.

Will The World End? Massive Asteroid 'Apophis', Equal to Size of 3 Football Fields, May Hit Earth in 2068

Image
If you thought 2020 is bad, wait for the year 2068 when a huge asteroid could potentially wipe all of humanity! Yes, astronomers have revealed that an asteroid named 'Apophis' is expected to pass extremely close or may hit the Earth in 2068 due to a phenomenon called Yarkovsky effect. Interestingly, the asteroid is named after The Egyptian god of Chaos and Evil. Also Read - Will The World End? Massive Asteroid 'Apophis', Equal to Size of 3 Football Fields, May Hit Earth in 2068 Researchers at the University of Hawaii Institute for Astronomy (IfA) have announced the detection of Yarkovsky acceleration on the near-Earth asteroid Apophis. This acceleration arises from an extremely weak force on an object due to non-uniform thermal radiation.  Also Read - Elon Musk Predicts Asteroid Will Hit Earth, 'we Currently Have no Defence' Discovered in 2004, asteroid Apophis is a 1,120-foot-wide (340-meter-wide) asteroid, about the size of three-and-a-half footbal...

Scientists Successfully Attempt Brain 'Teleportation' Using Laser Beams to Explore 'Inner GPS'

Image
In an experiment relating to memory, a team of Neuroscientists at University College London worked on mice to explore 'hidden workings of memory' and 'inner GPS.' Can teleportation exist outside of Star-Trek and other science fiction? In a way, yes. A certain kind of brain “teleport” has been just attempted by scientists, successfully, using laser beams. In an experiment relating to memory, a team of Neuroscientists at University College London worked on mice to explore “hidden workings of memory” and “inner GPS.” The area responsible for memory is hippocampus where they directed the laser beams. They wanted to stimulate the neurons called as “place cells” there. According to the Daily Star, whenever a human or animal enters a new environment, these place cells are activated. The scientists put the mice in one location and gave them a sugar-water reward. The rodents were then moved to another location where laser beams were used to activate the place cells t...

Elon Musk's SpaceX Will Make Its Own Laws on Mars, Not Follow Universal Ones

Image
The Declaration of the Rights and Responsibilities of Humanity in the Universe, however, mentions that space would be 'considered free, by all, for all, and to all.' In space, where nobody can hear you scream - earthly laws don't apply. Or so believes Elon Musk. The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, the tech mogul who has mentioned 'colonizing Mars' several times, now wants to make his own laws on the red planet. According a report in The Independent, SpaceX will not be recognising any international law on Mars and will instead follow a set of “self-governing principles” that will be laid down during the Martian settlement. Elon Musk appears to have very subtly slipped in a clause into the terms of agreement of Starlink satellite broadband services that SpaceX will make its own set of rules on Mars.
