Greater Mechanical Engineer, 26, Quit His Job With An MNC, To Revive Ponds

Image
Ramveer Tanwar, 26, quit his job with a multinational company to revive small ponds. He has saved ten ponds in the past five years. The mechanical engineer is creating water awareness in villages to fight the problem of water scarcity. Creating awareness about conservation became Mr Tanwar's focus after watching water wastage since childhood in the area he lived.  "I completed my B.Tech in 2014 and did my M.Tech in 2016. During student days, I started creating awareness regarding sustainable use of water. In big cities, people have to pay about 20 rupees for a liter of drinking water but in the village people were wasting hundreds of liters of water just because they were getting it for free. I was shocked to calculate the cost of water being wasted so I started sanitising villages by making door to door campaign," Mr Tanwar said

Rare Second Full Moon of October Will be First Since World War II to be Seen Across the World

Image
Of all things that you can spot in the sky, the moon is certainly not among the rarest of the celestial lot. Come tomorrow, though, and the moon is going to be more interesting than usual. On Saturday, October 31, we will witness the second full moon of the month – an occurrence that happens only once in a while. To make things even more interesting, it so appears that the second full moon is also our first global full moon in a long, long time – 76 years, to be precise. This means that tomorrow’s full moon shall be visible from almost every part of Earth, although some unfortunate regions will still miss out on it. While India is not particularly big on Halloween, folklore in the West has even more reason to celebrate – this is the first Halloween full moon in close to eight decades. While typical Halloween folklore has always counted the night of Halloween as one with a full moon up in the skies, it so happens that this depiction is more ingrained in popular culture, rath...

NASA has Discovered Rare Metal Asteroid in Our Solar System and It's Worth $10,000,000,000,000,000,000

Image
•  The rare and highly valuable asteroid called '16 Psyche’ was discovered by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope and it is equivalent to 10000 times the global economy in 2019. Ever since the space race heated up 50 years ago, colonizing other bodies in our solar system and beyond has been the underlying vision for humans to find permanent settlements in space. The constant exploration through unmanned probes, space crafts and various other space missions sent out to explore possibilities have led to new discoveries. the Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio in Texas, said that they usually find meteorites that have metal deposits, but Psyche is unique, as the asteroid could be entirely made of iron and nickel. Given its size and presence of metal deposits, it could be worth a whopping $10,000 quadrillion ($10,000,000,000,000,000,000), which is equivalent to ten thousand times the global economy in 2019. NASA has already targeted the exploration of asteroid Psyche with the lau...

A mechanical engineer from Tamil Nadu has invented an eco-friendly engine that runs on distilled water. Sounthirajan Kumarasamy, the engineer from Coimbatore, said, the engine that he has designed is unique and it uses hydrogen as fuel source and releases oxygen. "It took me 10 years to develop this engine. It is the first-of-its-kind invention in the world. It uses hydrogen as the fuel source and releases oxygen," the engineer told news agency ANI. Mr Kumarasamy said the engine will be introduced in Japan in a few days. He is hopeful of introducing it in India too. "My dream is to introduce this engine in India. I knocked on all the doors of the administrators but could not get a positive response. So I approached the Japan government and got the opportunity. This engine will be introduced in Japan in the coming days," words from Sounthirarajan kumarasamy

CPI and DPI buttons on mouse

Image
• Use of DPI button on mouse. DPI is the standard used to measure the mouse sensitivity, expressed as the number of DPIs (dots per linear inch) that a device can detect. By changing the DPI, you can instantly adjust pointer speed for precision tasks, such as in-game targeting or photo editing. • Use of CPI in mouse. Use the CPI button to confirm changes made and the scroll wheel button to cancel changes. ExactSense will adjust the Counts Per Inch (CPI) of the mouse, which determines the mouse's “sensitivity”. Raise the CPI, and the cursor on screen will move farther with the mouse.  •°• Technically, the correct nomenclature would be CPI, but instead, the term DPI is more widely used.

The most common Types of engines

Image
In General, there are two types of engines namely the internal and external combustion engines. 1. Internal combustion engines In these engines, fuel combustion takes place inside the engine and this causes pressure to increase and temperature to rise. As a result of combustion, the high pressure produced is applied to rotor, pistons or a nozzle and it’s the same power that moves your vehicle from one place to another and transforms chemical energy to useful mechanical energy. Very good examples are two-stroke and four-stroke petrol and diesel engines 2. External combustion engine In these engines, fuel combustion takes place outside the engine and steam engine is a great example In an external combustion engine (EC engine) is a heat engine where a working fluid, contained internally, is heated by combustion in an external source, through the engine wall or a heat exchanger. The fluid then, by expanding and acting on the mechanism of the engine, produces motion and usable w...

A overview of hybrid cars and types

Image
A hybrid car combines at least one electric motor with a gasoline engine to move the car, and its system recaptures energy via regenerative braking. Sometimes the electric motor does all the work, sometimes it's the gas engine, and sometimes they work together. The result is less gasoline burned and, therefore, better fuel economy. Adding electric power can even boost performance in certain instances. With all of them, electricity comes from a high-voltage battery pack (separate from the car's conventional 12-volt battery) that's replenished by capturing energy from deceleration that's typically lost to heat generated by the brakes in conventional cars. (This happens through the regenerative braking system.) Hybrids also use the gas engine to charge and maintain the battery. Car companies use different hybrid designs to accomplish different missions, ranging from maximum fuel savings to keeping the vehicle's cost as low as possible. Types of hybrids     ...

Scientists discover over 1,000 stars

Space-related research has long been an enticing work with amusing facts and celestial events over the course of time. Now, researchers have turned the course by listing various exoplanets revolving around their own stars that might potentially have the capability to observe the Earth. Indeed, this research led proposition has brought up the significant crux of the theory pertaining to the existence of extra-terrestrial life in other Solar systems. Profound research has produced certain inferences that hint towards the existence of as many as 1,004 stars that are similar to the Sun having their own exo-planets revolving around them. Further, it also suggests that these planets perhaps have the ability to trace the source of life back on the Earth. This has been corroborated by the lead author of the study Lisa Kaltengger who is an astronomy professor at Cornell University. In addition, she went on to claim that if researchers would observe Earth for any substantial proof of life ...
